This week's #Connecttuesdays features Tony Robledo . He is a dear friend of mine and is my spirit twin! I enjoyed reading through his answers, and I think you will too.
Who are you?
I am in love. I am an artist, a reader, a thinker, a doubter, a man. I am about to be unemployed. I am ambiverted. I am brown-skinned, a middle-child between two sisters, East Coast born. I am mostly easygoing. I am an ideator, a big dreamer, an opener of possibilities, an old soul. I am a verbal processor, a people developer, and a cross-pollinator.
What inspires you?
Joy, so jam-packed it has the gravity of a big bang event. We know these people and places. They carry in them Life, bundled so tight and dense it opens up a whole universe of explosive light and color and energy, right there and then in front of you, as you eat the scrambled eggs you made to start off just another ordinary day. I'm inspired by the impossible in the possible, the transcendent in the immanent, the spiritual in the material. I'm inspired by people empowered to live as the fullest versions of themselves.
What do you fear?
I fear futility, above all -- this is a new insight. I fear a life not lived; spent, but not used. I fear a life not shared, spent alone, the self the only common thread across a vast collection of experiences. I fear my own finitude, and that of all the people I love so dearly. I fear the way we all age, our bodies broken over time, and I fear the way my own mind feels when it's spent too many days under grey winter skies. Lately, I fear death, and the strange, stubborn fact that its universality makes it no less mysterious. I fear that there is no afterlife, and I fear there is one.
What makes you laugh?
